Split Flap template: a picture that flips over strip by strip

How Split Flap moves

Split Flap slices the picture into rows or columns and flips each strip over in turn to reveal the next image, the way a split-flap departure board changes. Set the number of strips, the gap between them and how much the flips overlap. It suits product shots, posters and before and after pairs.

In the studio you can tune its 10 settings along with the background, shadow and loop length, and your images never leave your device.

Make a Split Flap video

  1. Step 1

    Open the template

"Use this template" opens Split Flap in the studio at 4:3, already playing with sample work.

  2. Step 2

    Add your work

It starts with 6 spots for images or short videos. Empty spots repeat your images, so a few are enough.

  3. Step 3

    Tune the motion

Change the 10 settings above, the loop length (8 seconds to start), background and shadow.

  4. Step 4

    Export the loop

Download MP4 or WebM. 720p is free with a free account and no watermark; 1080p, 2K and 4K come with Pro.
